Peoria FUN.... Spirit of Peoria and Children's Museum

All enjoyed a ride on the SPIRIT of PEORIA paddle wheel boat on the Illinois river:

Next we enjoyed the children's museum in Peoria.... Ben posed for me:

Here Jonas and Nathan enjoyed the water works... Someone walking by said Nathan would be a great 'plumber'....

Replica of the tallest man in history 'Robert Wadlow' (8 foot 11 inches) intrigued the children...

All the Riley grandchildren in the GIANT chair.... you know, it's hard to take a good picture of all ELEVEN children at one time....  lol

Johanna was proud of the structure she built:

Then back to the Plattner's home for a PIZZA PARTY!!!!

Wheels & Water - Illinois 2014

Visited the Plattners in Illinois August 2014 & enjoyed several events...
4-Wheelers and dirt bikes (many new trails were created on the property for FUN trail rides). Here is the whole crew & Grandpa with Jeremiah and Johanna:

Canoes and kayaks were enjoyed on the river nearby:

Having a camera aboard my kayak helped me to stay DRY!!  lol

FUN with the GRANDCHILDREN in Illinois...

 This entrance to a 55 foot slide at the Wildlife Prairie Park was a place of pure enjoyment for the Plattner children...

 Most of us took a ride on the train...at the park.

 

 A get well card was made, signed and sent to Aunt Cori from all of them.
They all enjoyed making handmade cards and we'll have to do that again!!

Boys ONLY... they enjoyed showing me their treehouse... Jesse, Javan, Jonas and Jared..

Johanna is growing up...and took part in much of the children's play times..

Javan caught a nice size frog in the creek on their property...I won't tell you what he did with the frog... (I'll let you guess).

Jubilee found a log to sit on at the park...we enjoyed a nice picnic that day!

Dale and I had much FUN with all the children and look forward to our next visit at the end of the summer!!!  Thank you LauraLee and Chad :)

Thanks To Those Who Serve Our Country

This monument in Zwolle, Netherlands is in honor of my father's B-17 flight crew that was shot down during WWII.  The pilot made the ultimate sacrifice by staying with the plane to avoid crashing into the town of Zwolle. Several of the crew members including my father survived but were captured and remained POW's in Germany for the remainder of the war.

Thanks to all the men and women who have served or are currently serving to give us the freedoms that we enjoy in our great country.
